Completing dental work without balancing the bite, jaws, muscles, and joints is not advised. It leads to more expense in the future.
A “habitual” bite is often changed or improved with dental reconstructive options. It is our goal to determine whether the current habitual bite is the cause of pain problems and imbalances of the cranial components. Proper and extensive diagnostic measures must be taken in order to determine specific jaw position, muscle function, and joint stability. For most of our patients the bite has to be improved as it can be found in an abnormal neuromuscular position. This is especially true for patients who have missing or worn teeth.
