Dental Health Improvement 101

A healthy body starts with a healthy mouth.   Most of us need some Nutritional Modification (NM).  Consider this to be like a diet.  Changing from a SAD (Standard American Diet) to a wholesome and nutritious choice is the only way to get on the health improvement highway and keep your mouth in great shape.  You should do this slowly and gradually by learning about food.

Food Choice is the key to health.

Your shopping habits are the key.

You must constantly focus on AVOIDING:

  • Sugar especially “added sugar”
  • HOs (Hydrogenated Oils)
  • Dairy
  • Starch
  • Chemicals (TOX)

Continuing to eat these foods or additives, while trying to get healthy, would be analogous to trying to shovel your driveway in the middle of a heavy snowfall.

There is a ton of information on the web regarding this topic.  One of our favorite YouTube channels is Bobby Parrish and FlavCity.  He covers the basics of reading food labels and educating you about TOX found in foods.  Take a few days to watch his videos and subscribe to his channel.  If you continue to buy food without knowing the included ingredients, you are missing the Titanic.  You can drastically improve your health just by learning to substitute REAL food for TOX food.

Word of caution:  there are a lot of so-called YouTube experts who are peddling books and products.  Be wise about the advice that you consider!

Keep in mind that most food is full of TOX and devoid of adequate nutrition.   Follow some other simple rules:

    1. Drink plenty of Filtered Water: at least half an ounce of water for every pound you weigh, daily! Do NOT ever drink plastic bottled water or straight tap water. You should also consider drinking Celery juice each morning and Lemon Balm, Dandelion or Licorice Tea at night.
    2. Eat lots of RAW (uncooked) Organic Vegetables: broccoli, green/red peppers, cucumbers, carrots, squash, tomatoes, avocados, spinach, and other regional greens. Eat as many raw or lightly steamed vegetables and fresh salads as you can digest. Season them with sea salt, extra virgin olive oil, apple cider vinegar, Garlic, ginger, cayenne pepper, chili peppers, and YELLOW onions. The key is RAW or slightly steamed.  If you cook vegetables, you lose their enzyme ability.  Enzymes are needed for the digestive process to help the pancreas and gall bladder.  Be careful with cruciferous vegetables such as kale, broccoli, cauliflower, and brussel sprouts if you have thyroid issues as these vegetables can inhibit thyroid function if they are uncooked.
    3. Eat palm sized amounts of fruits: papayas, pineapple, berries, mango, watermelon, grapefruit, apricots, apples, figs, and dates.
    4. Eat the right Proteins: the best sources are turkey (contains L-tryptophan, a serotonin producing amino acid which helps to stabilize headaches and improve cell function), wild-caught fish (halibut, mackerel, salmon) for all Blood Types. Lamb, cow, and chicken for Blood Type O.  Avoid farm-raised salmon, tuna, and any fish from foreign countries.  Excellent organic vegetarian protein sources include free range eggs, tempeh, red lentils, and chickpeas. Purchase Collagen Peptide supplement and add to your favorite drink or smoothie.
    5. Consume Complex Carbohydrates: for sustained energy, eat complex carbohydrates in the form of legumes, red potatoes, squash, yams, and brown rice. Limit your overall carbohydrate intake to 30 percent or less of the foods you eat at each meal.
    6. Consult with your doctor regarding your Vitamin D and Calcium and Magnesium levels.  Many chronic pain patients experience low Vitamin D, calcium, and magnesium levels.  Healing requires the proper amount of these critical nutrients for recovery.  Your doctor must draw blood for your basic study and ask the lab for the additional specific test for Vitamin D (which requires Vitamin K for proper function.)
    7. Add one Digestive Enzyme with every meal.
    8. Add Flaxseed, Chia Seeds, Hemp, and Krill Oil to the diet.  Flaxseeds and Chia Seeds can be put into smoothies or oatmeal while Krill Oil supplements can be taken daily.  Nearly every human on this planet needs these oils daily.  Fish oils can also be recommended based on the quality of the manufacturer.  Also eat pumpkin seeds a few times a day.
    9.  Eat one APPLE per day.
    10. Eat Sauerkraut and Pickles if your blood type allows it.
    11. Eat lightly steamed Asparagus and Cauliflower.
    12. Use Turmeric as a primary spice or take Turmeric capsules.
    13. Eat beets (they contain Betaine which helps produce stomach acid.)
    14. Use” healthy greens” drinks that contain chlorella.

Digestive or GI Cleansing

Once you have changed your eating habits you should consider that you most likely must “make up” for years of filling your body with TOX.  It is likely that you may need to still remove some of the old “garbage” and the only way to do this is through GI Cleansing.  You have some choices when it comes to starting a GI cleanse. You may want to consider consulting with your physician or a naturopathic practitioner before doing this, especially if you have IBS or diarrhea or another GI dysfunction.  You can consider something as simple as Prune Juice or the following options:

  1. Purchase inexpensive Magnesium Citrate and follow instructions on the bottle. 1 or 2 days should be enough.
  2. Consider a Hydro Colonic.
  3. Purchase a Total Body Cleanse product.

After the Cleanse

After the cleanse, start to implement the following daily habits:

  1. Drink 1 cup Prune Juice or Unfiltered Apple Juice with 1 tsp of Psyllium husk every evening for 14 days. Discontinue the psyllium after 14 days but continue to consider the prune or apple juice for basic maintenance.
  2. Drink 1 cup freshly juiced Celery juice every morning.
  3. Eat at least 1 cup of organic fruits: papayas, berries, mango, watermelon, grapefruit, apricots, apples, figs, and/or dates.
  4. Eat at least 2 cups of romaine lettuce, squash, asparagus, kale, and/or spinach. Flavor them with olive oil, peppermint, and sea salt.
  5. Drink at least 1 cup of Lemon Balm or Licorice Tea

The next part of your GI cleanse includes a Liver cleanse. Here is our recommendation:

Dr Tennant’s Liver Cleanse Essential Oil can be mixed with one tablespoon of coconut oil and 3 teaspoons of raw honey into a cup of hot water.  Drink it hot.

Other liver cleanse formulas can be bought at your local health food store but be careful with synthetic products. Milk Thistle (containing 80% silymarin) is another herbal formula that can cleanse the liver.

If you didn’t change your eating habits the GI cleanse will have been a waste of time and further removal of TOX cannot be accomplished.

Remember to always try and shop for organic products.  Even local grocery stores are adding many organic products to their shelves.  Focus on finding organic food produced in our country.

In About 5 Weeks

In about 5 weeks of starting the Detox program YOU WILL START TO SEE HUGE BENEFITS!

The above steps are not to be considered a full De-Tox.  It is simply traffic decongestion.  Most TOX will be stuck in your other organs and tissues and only advanced De-Tox programs can remove these.  GI and liver cleansing are a starting point, similar to unclogging your sink.
